Triumph on Tour rolls through the Nordics – three new models in focus
The event began with a historical overview of Triumph’s long and distinguished heritage. Jeanette Smårs (Janet on Wheels) who not only led the presentation but is also tasked with running the entire tour in Sweden and Norway for Triumph, shared the story of how the brand evolved from a small British manufacturer into a world-renowned motorcycle icon.
Triumph – Over 120 Years of Motorcycle History
Triumph’s heritage dates back to 1902 when the company’s first motorcycle, No. 1, designed by Mauritz Schultze, was introduced. However, the brand’s roots go even further back—to 1884, when German-born engineer Siegfried Bettmann founded Triumph in Coventry, England.
Originally a bicycle manufacturer, Triumph quickly became one of the world’s most recognised motorcycle brands. Over the decades, the company has left its mark on motorcycling history with iconic models such as the Bonneville, Trident, and Daytona.
In 2022, Triumph reached a major milestone by producing its one-millionth motorcycle—a Tiger 900, one of the brand’s most popular models. This coincided with the launch of the new Tiger 1200, featuring Triumph’s signature T-plane triple engine.
Triumph has also made a significant impact in popular culture. From Steve McQueen’s legendary jump in The Great Escape (1963) to modern action films, Triumph motorcycles have appeared in numerous cinematic classics. Most recently, in the 2022 James Bond film No Time to Die, where agent 007 rides a Triumph Scrambler 1200, while the Tiger 900 also features in spectacular stunt sequences.
Today, Triumph remains one of the world’s leading premium motorcycle manufacturers, continuing to build on its legacy by blending classic design with modern innovation.
At this year’s event, Jeanette presented three exciting models:
- Speed Twin 900 (2025) – Retaining its classic design, the 2025 Speed Twin 900 features 43 mm Marzocchi upside-down forks (non-adjustable) and twin Marzocchirear shocks with adjustable preload. The 900 cc parallel-twin engine delivers 65 hp, while its refined suspension, improved brakes, and 780 mm seat height make it both comfortable and accessible for urban riding and longer journeys.
- Speed Twin 1200 RS (2025) – Striking a balance between classic styling and modern performance, the 1200 cc parallel-twin engine produces 103.5 hp. It is equipped with a 43 mm Marzocchi upside-down frontfork and twin Öhlins rear shocks for improved handling. Braking is enhanced with twin 320 mm front discs and Brembo Stylema four-piston callipers, while the 810 mm seat height ensures a well-balanced riding position.
- Tiger Sport 800 (2025) – A sport-touring motorcycle powered by a 798 cc three-cylinder engine delivering 113 hp. It features a 41 mm Showa upside-down front fork with separate compression and rebound adjustability and a Showa monoshock with adjustable preload. Braking is handled by twin 310 mm front discs with four-piston callipers. With an upright riding position, 830 mm seat height, and an aerodynamic fairing with an adjustable windscreen, the Tiger Sport 800 is designed for long-distance comfort. The 18.5-litre fuel tank provides excellent range, making it a great choice for touring and varied terrain.
